250 years of scratching for christ, CONGRATS!

Posted this elsewhere but didn't get much of any response...How 'bout youse guys?... Did it strike anyone as odd that the March ’06 issue of skin & Ink contained a 2 page article glorifying a 250 year old scratching dynasty! Damn, it surely takes a special kind of talent to keep scratching out consistently crappy work on a couch for that long with no noticeable aesthetic improvement in either the couch or the tattooing. Should longevity alone be enough to merit respectability and or acceptance among ones ‘peers’? That article was kind of like opening “Parents Today” and finding a congratulatory article about an inter-generational family of child molesters. “Kudos folks, for ‘keeping it up’, for so long!”. Heck, who gives a damn about art or “issues of hygiene” anyway… Shocking, but not surprising…religion has been used through out history to justify all sorts of atrocities. Why not use religion to legitimize being a scratcher! Props to Travelin’ Mick for doing his share “in keeping the Razzouk family tradition alive”, but, respectfully, some family traditions should be allowed to die. This one preferably a painful death from heatstroke under the noon desert sun while having eyes plucked out by vultures and being dismembered by a hungry pack of hyenas…Good grief! Needles to say, Skin&Ink declined to print my letter to the editor...
