The new tattoo on the back of Alyssa Milano, is of the Tibetan 'hum' character, i checked it out with my friend Tashi, who is an expert in Tibetan scripts: www.inkessential.com
He tells me it is Tibetan Uchen script, however and unfortunatly, in Alyssa's case, it is drawn in-correct, perhaps over stylised beyond the correct proportions and construction, it would not be pritty to the eye of a Tibetan.
So my advice is to go to a good authority like Tashi, before you get inked.
silly Alyssa did not do her homework !

her tatto on her neck is actually the Bhuddist symbol for Hum which is drawn correctly and is part of a chant. I read this on Alyssa Milano Tattoos
Thanks Allysa for clearing it up!
lordy.
I think she is a terd and totally lame....but I still want to have sex with her. I could careless about her tatts.
Agent, Just an FYI, turd is spelled...T.U.R.D
So I just wanted to say that both early statements in this blog are technically correct. The Tattoo on the back of her neck IS correct, it is one of a number of ways of representing it. From a standpoint of Buddhism "energy follows intent" and there are as many different ways of representing both energy and Hum as you can imagine going back 5000 or so years. There is Tibetan Uchein Calligraphy, and Sanskrit just to name two of them. The one on Alyssa's back is perfectly valid, and is the othr style espoused by one of the authors. Considering the fact that they are BOTH in effect stylized, and there are others, no one form is more "valid" than the other.
I am a Buddhist, and have seen both styles and numerous others before on prayer wheels, drums, rocks, temples and people's skin. Me, I personally happen to prefer the style on Alyssa's neck, it reasonates very clearly and well for me. I periodically have it inked, and re-inked in henna on my neck, and one of these days when I make up my mind what color, I'm going to have it inked there for good. I am also an artist and calligrapher, and while I don't have a nice site like Tashi, I do enjoy my art.
Frankly Tashi's rendering is excellent, and spot on, but the lines are a bit sharper, where as the version Alyssa and I use are a bit more feminine, which kinda makes sense.
As to thinking people are lame and TURDS, but still wanting to have sex with them, well that makes you more animal than mineral, vegetable or person than I guess.
May all beings be happy!
Blessings,
Sam
