any tips on how an apprentice can improve his lining?

2 messages · last activity 10/26/2010

Ok, well im an apprentice in a tattoo shop and i have been for just over a year now. I want to improve my lining because its something i have alot of trouble with. My lines are fine on paper but i cant get that to translate to skin. I cant really seem to stay on the lines that well either. Iv tried using an old machine with a pencil in it and some practice skin but i dont think im improving that much. Anyone have any suggestions or tips on how i could improve a bit or how i could get better quality lines? im not sure if its just a nerves thing. Thanks
cant and dont have the answer for you.this should be directed towards your master. but i would recomened keep using the machine with the pencil, try hooking it up to the power unit and use it just like you are doing a tattoo. you lay a line hit the power. that will get you used to the power vibration and such.i do have some other ideas that may help but that would be getting into technical advice.cant do that on this forum. shoot me a e mail though and we can discuss this further. pratice pratice is the best method
