Running through some other sites and occasionally I run across guys who have been tattooing for several years(more than 10) and for one reason or another they are not currently working at a shop. If they have good work and I do searches for the shops or other artists they mention- as to be expected- some of them turn up nothing and some seem to be 100% legit.
Since I can't do the traditional apprentice thing full time- and Im assuming they are having to work "day-jobs" as well- I thought about hitting some of them up for an apprenticeship- Is there any stigma against that? Im not saying I would agree with it- but I did wonder if others would look down upon someone who wasn't specificly apprenticed out of a shop.

I think thats a great idea, I'm sure some could do with the extra dosh and hey why not, fuck what anybody else thinks, go for it.
My advice is to find the best practicing artist you can find, if they arent currently tattooing, theres only so much you can really learn. Lets see your art!
Heres a few paintings and some photo manipulations I've done(nonphotoshop)-http://artrenegades.com/the_art_of_christian_bernal.htm
