Hi, I want to get and arabic tattoo for the word determination or motivation on my wrist, and I can't seem to find anything on the net, can anyone please help me?
Jine, The problem with trying to find the translations for the words you want is not finding them. That is the easy part. But the constant issue, especially with Arabic text translations on the internet is that when you do find written translation it is extremely small and hard to make out. Here is the best site that I have come across so far. I hope that it helps in some small way. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask them! Good luck and happy tattooing....J http://worldlingo.com/en/resources/arabic_dictionaries.html
can i be nosy and ask why you want an arabic tattoo? are you looking at horizonatal text or vertical (traditional) text? i only ask because i'm middle eastern (syrian) and i get curious as to why some people desire chinese symbols and other work done in foreign languages. you have to be careful too, because there are variations in the 'arabic' languages depending on which country etc it originates from. also make sure that you have an artist that is very meticulous to detail on this -- if you find exactly what you're looking for online i would not only print it out but also show the artist the weblink -- what might be an artistic flourish to you could actually change the whole meaning of the word. good luck to you, its a beautiful language -- i'm 25 and still trying to keep up w/the conversations at the family reunions. i don't think i ever will master reading it.
If any of you are looking for a tattoo in Arabic, I do Arabic calligraphy for tattoos. I do all my work by hand with a reed pen, and I don't use a computer program like most services online, and my rates are very affordable. Check out http://www.arabiccalligrapher.com/ for more info and pictures. I also used to work as a translator/interpreter between Arabic and English, so you're guaranteed a correct translation. Thanks!
