Artist Monte

Just want to see what most people think of the Tattoo artist Monte from New Breed. In my opinion he is on the level of a Bob Tyrrell and a Robert Hernandez.

Well, to me his maybe the best that there ever has been when it comes to art reproduction. And his ability to take bodies lines and curves into consideration is amazing.

I would like to ad this. He should (or it would be nice) if he had examples of his own paintings (if he paints) and the tattoos should state when it was totally custom etc. Because if you dont know much about art, then you could assume that he "tattoos other peoples art", when im shure he has to be capable of amazing art by himself. So thats the only downside. Because I would think that many people that he gets, or want to be, his clients, want him for art reproduction etc. So it has to be frustrating not to get tattoo your own custom stuff as much. !This is of course based on what you see on his webiste. He could have a portfolio that is 95% of just his own art!

i think hes simply amazing. The level of Bob Tyrrell and Hernendez, hungh? Well, are we talking top 20 or top 5?

after meeting monte on several occasions at conventions and seeing his work i must admit he is fucking top notch and a super nice guy to boot, i would gladly give him a large space to tattoo me!!!

I had the pleasure of working directly with Monte for several years, and I can tell you Monte is a true artist in every sence of the word, in fact I moved from AZ to Indiana, just to work with him. Monte is so far ahead of his time, unfortunately he does not mess with computers much so there is a ton of work out there that only few have seen, that is just retardly good. If you are ever in The Indianapolis area stop buy Artistic tattoo and look at his portfolio!

I would say that Monte is in the top 5 of world. Definetly top 10. Thats impossible to say, so I just say that he is one of the best :) And if I ever get to see his portfolio, well, then I will see it ;)
