Artistic Critique: Adrian Lee

Anyone want to talk composition? Adrian Lee works a backpiece with a seriously adept sense of composition on such a big area. I would like to get people's sense of what they think of his stuff. Not sure you can do much better with large imagery. Or am I out of line? Lets see if we can sustain a thread without talking about scratchers.
I havent seen too much of his work in person, but from the books and photos I think hes awesome. Ive been trying to get him up to new england for years... maybe for the gathering 2011... I would like to see new fresh work from him (and marcus) but I guess I have to get out to the west coast...!
It seems like they(the Analog crew) is trying to publish every tattoo they do. Basically selling the artwork again. I haven't seen it done to this degree before. You see books out there paying respect to the Japanese masters etc. But you don't see it done in such an artistic way. I think its a good thing.
One of the people featured in the Full Coverage book used to come by my shop for piercings, and seeing his work in person absolutely floored me. Seeing something like that re-defined what a tattoo could be to me. Like you said, his composition and use of space are among the top in the world. And Hell yea you have to come to the West Coast Gabe, I still owe you some beers from the last time I got to visit your shop. Oh and we have great wineries too!
I've seen tons of his work in person and it's all amazing.... Linework, composition, saturation, everything is on point.... amazing tattooer...
http://www.galleryad.com/art/archives/art/backroom/full_coverage_newskool_tattoo/ Here's a good spot to see some of the "Full Coverage" project. Can't wait to see more from their new "Bloodwork Sleeves" project. Coming in October I believe. I hope they reprint full coverage in a cheaper format.
