baker462 Needs Idea

Hey all, On a totally unrealated topic, We usually go to florida for vacation so that my 6yr daughter can go to disneyworld... We are looking at something different this year.. we are up for a 2 day drive (florida takes us 22ish hours from Kingston Ontario Canada) Anyone out there got any ideas? obviously it has to be somewhere that will have lots to keep our 6yr busy! Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated! BTW, we are looking at going from 24AUG - 03SEPT Thanks in advance, Baker sendz..........

Why leave Canada?????? Montreal is one of the greatest cities in the world and has something for everyone to enjoy! Great food, museums, La Ronde, the home of Cirque du Soleil, the old Oylmpic park that has a great biosphere . . . . Plus within an hour you can be hilking in the Laurentians. . .

Thanks for the speedy reply.... being in the Canadian military, we have lived all over the country! (used to have seasons passes to La Ronde ) With the Canadian dollar doing sowell, it is a good time to venture to the states! Baker sendz....

I spent 2 summers living in Montreal working as a nanny and I have remained in love with the city . . . ok so you wanna come south . . . ahhh western mass is fun, lots of free kids stuff and I know this kick-ass tattoo shop hahahahaha Do you wanna avoid NYC??? cause it would be the obvious choice to me, I grew up there and love everything it has to offer theatre great museums cheap fantastic food the harbor and coney island . . . Boston is fun and Cape Cod is lovely and relaxing although Labor Day weekend is nuts for traffic If you are outdoorsey the finger lakes region of ny state is awesome and produces yummy wines for the grown-ups I'd suggest setting up camp in one of the three state parks in Ithaca further south the DelMarVa peninsula is a hidden gem, we spent time there last summer from Ocean City, MD with carnival boardwalk fun to Assateague Island where the wild ponies roam there's alot to see and do umm I like to travel :-) mrs. ripley

Hey KMAMA You know Ithaca...huh...well hell I grew up there practically lived at the parks!! Used to hike the trails allllll summer long!! Buttermilk Falls Taganic (sp) State Park and the last one slips my mind at the moment...I think it was Truman (sp) State Park ahhhhh found memories!!! Mike

ya my Dad went to Cornell from hmmm I guess I was 10 -14 so I spent my summers there with him and his family there was a really great YMCA summer camp that travelled from park to park throughout the week fun fun fun took gabe and our girl there a couple of summers ago for a weeks vacation and sometimes we just drive south on our way home from family in buffalo to eat at the great Vietnameese place by Cornell yummy NY State is a forgotten place but filled with beauty if you take the time to get off I90 ok gotta party to go to . . . .

Heh.. this is a good topic. I've been to almost every state in the US on business or pleasure, with my grandparents. My favorite trips were driving around in the Mountains in Washington, and Yellowstone. Colorado is also really cool. There are lots of things to do there, especially around the Colorado Springs Area.. There's Pike's Peak, Royal Gorge, and all other sorts of wonderful things.. I absolutely have loved going there all three times. We used to have family that lived out there, so it became sort of a tradition for my mom and I to go during the summer, and go to the Renaissance Festival, but I think that ends here really soon, if it's not already over. You might want to check that out, it's in Larkspur, about half way between Colorado Springs, and Denver.. it's one of the best in the country, in my opinion.. Anyway.. if you have a specific area you'd like to visit, email me, and I'll give you some ideas there..
