BIG PROBLEMS with the starbrite inks!!!

2 messages · last activity 5/7/2010

Hey guys, I will get right to the point. Lately I had a need to use a lot of Starbrite Deep Violet and Lavender, but damn it healed like shit, every single time I used it for the last month or so, as far as getting that ink into the skin - it has never been easy, but after passing over 1-3 time it seemed very good/perfectly packed. but the healed tat just looks bad, however when I went over the second time with some more violets it healed ok. Anyway, does someone has any suggestions and idea why the f*ck is that happening and I can bet that I am not the only one who has this problem. thanks.
I have no idea- I use starbrite inks almost exclusively and I am familiar with the colors you mentioned...I never had an issue with my tattoos healing properly or the ink looking bad after it is healed. I used it recently on a client and her tattoo looks fantastic with no scabbing or loss of ink-and her tattoo has a lot of purple in it. I would contact the company directly and see if maybe they had a quality control issue and even the may not be aware of it. I would also look at where you purchased it from-could have it been tampered with? I would also look into maybe the client's treatment of the tattoo-maybe they are doing something they shouldn't, or even using something on the tattoo itself that should not be used. I have heard of people having allergic reactions as well, maybe your clients are allergic? I always let my clients know the risk of ink rejection and the possibility of allergic reactions as well...there are so many possibilities....I hope this helps you a little...
