Black Band on forearm

Hey, I've been searching around the net to make sure there isn't a weird or stupid meaning to the simple black band around the forearm. I've seen it once or twice and I always loved the look of it. Does anybody knows if the band means something? (or bandS since i'll probably get two anyways...) Thanks!

it's a mourning band

I have to say that I agree wholeheartedly about the mourning band. I got a black band around my right forearm in 1998 after a series of extremely vivid dreams in which I had great power from this band. In all the dreams this was mixed strongly with the memory of my mother's death some years earlier. I mention 1998 because the internet wasn't the overloaded vessel then that it is now and I did this with NO "common understanding" that it was for this purpose. None whatsoever. I've seen many of them since and I think that it is a compelling argument for Atavism. Peace
