Im a professional tattoo artist, I own my own shop and I dont think that a blow out is the same as a bleed out! Now we all know what a blow out is BUT I have seen that in some cases if you are tattooing the waist or hip area you can have ink travelover the entire surface of the tattoo no matter how the tattoo was applied. I have spoken with a dermatologist and after we spoke about the blow out details he agreed that if your skin is too elastic and or thin your underlying skin layer can be unable to seal off ink flow into fatty layers and blood system.
I keep seeing comments always saying that the artist should be blammed but I just wonder where the rationalization is in that. To blow out an area or spot while tattooing is one thing but to have an entire image have ink spread through it is different. Does it seems suspect? I had 2 artists do a side piece on one lady and she had ink spread throughout her piece even though the two pieces did not connect and ran the length of her side. Turns out she was working out hard and dropping weight fast and could have played a role. Her tattoo was shaded with background to hide the ink bleeding and shes happy but it struck me that the simple "blame the artist" couldnt be right! You would have to have 2 amazing artists have a blow out over the entire tattoo at the same time. I think theres a difference what do you guys think?
Blowout or Bleedout?
