Branding

I know that brandings are not tattoos, and this is a message board about tattoos and tattooing...BUT I have a question and I thought that with the esteemed opinions and practitioners on this site, I would give it a shot! I have had my branding for about a year and a half, and I always assumed that all brandings raise, and mine is still sunken. I didn't know if it had something to do with the size or shaping, or what...? It is about eight inches wide, five inches tall, two-sided spiral with a thorn between and connecting the two spirals. I got the branding assuming that it would raise because I have never seen one that didn't. Is this just my skin being weird? (because my skin is weird. i blow out from tattooing every time, no matter what, no matter who) Does it take time for the branding to raise? Would it have raised if I hadn't tattooed between every line of the tattoo to make it stand out more? Thank you so much for any guidance you can offer!

i used to do brandings, and i can tell you that everyone's skin reacts different. Your artist should have demanded that you had a test spot done first. Unless something really odd happens, it will not raise. It is odd to me that you want it to raise though, most people pray that it sinks.
