bruising

I just got my first tattoo back in Oct. I love it, except for the fact that it looks like it's still bruised. It's not painful to touch, it just looks a little wierd. Other than that, it's completely healed. I'm just wondering if I should be worried about it, or if it's just because of where it's placed is making it take longer to heal (it's on my hip bone).
hmmm, after 3 months, I don't think it's a bruise. It sounds like the ink spread beneath the skin, possibly from working too deep, is it by chance a black tattoo?
I've never heard of bruising, but recently my friend and I got some tattoos, I've already had two but this was her first. I got a design on the back of my neck (I wanted to die the entire time) and Nan got a cute little ducky on her leg. It's taking forever to heal and she asked me to look at it the other day to make sure it's progressing normally, and it is but something didn't look right. It looked like the color was just a lot of lines. All of my tattoos have smooth coloring and you can't see any lines in them. I want to know if anyone out there has seen this before and if it's normal. I haven't said anything to her yet about how weird it looks, and I was wondering if anyone out there can tell me if this is how some people heal or if not, should I tell her? I mean, there's not much she can do if I tell her but regret it, and I don't want her to do that.
It sounds like the artist when colouring the tat has used an "up and down" motion, when he or she should have been doing it in "small circles" if ya know what I mean. The problem with using this up and down method is the needles go to different depths into the skin, which causes this line effect. Its most likely to be resolved, by giving the tat 3-4 months healing time, where the skin will be completely regenerated, then go to the "best" artist you can find to re-work the colour into your mates tattoo. Dont re-visit the same artist cos it sounds like they were rushing the job. Good luck. Dusk
