bumps

i just recently got a red crown tattooed on my back half on the back and half on the neck. i'm about one week into the healing process, finished with scabbing, and the itching has begun. but just today i noticed i haved a rash all around my tattoo with a few bumps on the ink. i had been washing with soap and water and unscented lotion, though i stopped using the lotion after the rash appeared. it itches an ungodly amount and i was told to use neosporin only to hear it fades the tattoo. i've heard aveeno is good and will the bumps that are scabbing right now affect my tattoo or mess it up? i have lifetime touchups on it but i still would rather it just heal. any suggestions or answers?
