Can a new tattoo get sun?

I'm getting a tattoo on Saturday. How long should I wait before I can have it in the sun (going to Florida in early Jan). Thanks for your help.

Well, if you want it to look good forever......than never; realistic, a little bit after it's heals. In my humble opinion, 6-8 weeks!
