can an arabic tattoo go down your side?

I am not Arabic but i admire the culture and the letters look so beautiful. So my question is can a tatto written in arabic go down the side of your body ( the torso area)? Meaning if it goes therewould it look right. Or is this a bad idea? Get back @ me.
