Can you get ring worm from tattooing?

If a tattoo gun isn't cleaned properly or whatever the different parts are called :>D can you get the fungus from getting the tattoo? I had a tattoo on my back for years now; but, never had it colored in, finally I get it colored in and about a week later I have this horrible spot right on my tatto that looks like ring worm and itches like hell!! I've never had ring worm before and are not very sure on how you would get it; but, it just seemed strange to me that a week after i got the tattoo colored in... this spot came up... and it's right on the tattoo?!?!?
