chinese character search

Hey again all I'm the 53 year old that posted a couple days ago. I went to a local artist yesterday and he told me he had a 70 year old come in last week so I guess I got my answer. I'm having difficulty finding a chinese character , It would translate as "to listen" or "listening" . I had it explain to me one time as literally ,"heart open, eyes focused" which I'd like to have that inked so I could explain that to people always . I also like what's called the "GRASS" style. The tattoo artist says I need to bring that in so there's no mistaking what I want . Googling around isn't helping . can anyone help ?
