about coil resistance i try to match my coils as closely as possible ive seen people recomending this ive been speaking to a friend old timer and he runs his coils out of sync so to speak not by a massive amount 5 to 10 % difference in resistance he winds his own coil packs if the coil pack had 3 ohms resistance the front would be 1.4ohm and the rear 1.6ohm 3 ohm in total its the first ive ever heard of this but his machine he showed me ran very well .... unless i ripped the machine apart and tested the coils individualy i guess ill never know if he was pulling my chain have you guys ever heard or tryd this he also sets his liners when the amature bar is touching the front coil it is missing the back by at least 2mm not a hair width and if i hadnt seen it i problys wouldnt beleive it would run as sweet he just keeps saying old school techniques and laughing .... he isnt ignorant how i make him sound hes a pretty helpfull guy and always says if i really ever want to learn how to build my own coils then he will teach i know some of you use coils from other people i know some make there own have you heard of this or tryd it food for thought anyways cheers H
so does anyone feel they have the knowladge to comment on this thread i started or do 99% of you use coils made by other people
