Covering a bad wrist scar with a tattoo?

4 messages · last activity 11/7/2009

I am going to turn eighteen in a couple months and I am beginning to look for tattoo ideas. I really want to cover a scar that I have from self-injury on my wrist, but I am afraid it's too bad to cover up. I wouldn't want to ruin the tattoo. The mark goes across my whole wrist and my wrist is already misshaped from the cut. Would I ask a tattoo artist about this or a doctor?
I was looking for an answer to this too. Have you found out, I see that not many had posted an answer to your question.
first make sure that scar is a cpl years old. then find a artist with some experince working with scars. DONT RUSH THIS. ya got the rest of your life to deal with and have that tattoo.remember dont go for the good deal either find a good QUALITY artist that has experince with scars. good luck!
I am 34, I already have several tattoos, but, I also worry about ruining a tattoo by using it to cover my scar. I have two from a deep burn a year ago. One on the inside wrist bone (1/2 in. x 1/4 in.), the other is 1 inch above my wrist on the outer forearm(2 in. x 1 1/2 in.). Both are 1/8 in. to 1/16 in. deep. I could use some good advice too.
