Covering a foot tattoo

I have one tattoo on my hip and I love it, but I want my next one to be more visible. However, I still need to be able to cover it for work. I am thinking that a foot tattoo should be really easy to cover (closed shoes...easy!), but some friends have pointed out things like weddings and other social events where it would be hard to find a closed shoe, but a tattoo might be seen as inappropriate. Can anyone with a foot tattoo offer insight into how you handle such occasions? Do you regret getting your tattoo? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!
