design thesis on tattoo artist, need feed back please!

Hi i'm currently an industrial design student who is thinking about doing his senior thesis on helping tattoo artist and or their clients. I have heard that tattoo artist often can have back problems due to bending over while they work is this something that is true or not really? what are common problems tattoo artist have(this could be machine problems, furniture, health, anything really)? I myself have been tattoo several times and love it, so this is my way of giving back to all you very talented artist out there. any feedback would be fantastic. thanks
