Humbling, Humbling, Humbling. God I'd love to sit and watch him work up close. Of course hes one of many. How could you NOT improve feeding off of artists like this. I know every tattooist cannot achieve what Nick has....But I am sure.....ALL should strive to. Even at this level he is all about improving...ever looking to improve technique...do something new....better..(if even just in his own mind). Isn't this what being an artist all about? At anyrate...GREAT INTERVIEW!
This post has been up for TWO Days now and no more responses???? WOW! I'm amazed. You should ALL check this out. 1 amazing artist!
he's very inspiring and amazing. i love color. thanks for the heads up
I'm still reading it in pieces so I can digest it! *lol*....I'm a bit slow at times. Cool stuff though. ;)
This man is downright amazing. You wouldn't have seen work this bold even ten years ago in a magazine or whatever. Everyone seemed to know who this guy is , guess that's just some more reaffirmation that I'm out of the loop on the greats of the industry. Now I have a more tech type question. Is there any tips as far as pencils go that I can use to get this same type of boldness? Or is this guy just a wiz with the color wheel and polychrome theory? Another thing , these are the types of men and women that I wish could portray the industry or at least be in the fore front spearheading this new televised tattoo lifestyle craze that's come about. This is one down to earth fella as far as being a communicator it seems. Not like the muscleheaded ego tripping piece of shit they proclaim the now infamous Ami to be. Not that he's really a piece of shit I"m sure his mother loves him, or maybe it's just that he's also an actor hell idk , just sucks that he seems to swim with negativity and there's guys like this man Nick here who seem to really be after great and beautiful art.
We will have a series of tattoo artist interview videos coming out soon. First one is with Nikko, who is an incredibly awesome fellow(as awesome as his tattoos!), and today we are filming an interview with Steve Morris. All part of the sucking up I do, but dont worry,Ill get rich in 3 months when you can buy the DVD at 7-11s nationwide!
Oh, and for tips you can surf his message-board and if he hasnt already answered the question, ask! Actually, he may explain it in that new flash set, I know theres a sheet that explains the process nick and jeff took to make the art...
Much Obliged Mr. Gabe. and top of the morning to you as well.
