Hey,
I'm interested in purchasing this "fake skin" stuff for my wife.
She is learning the art, and is getting bored of grapefruits.
I thought about the 'fake skin' but can't find any comments, or anyone who has actually used the stuff.
Any comments appreciated, thanks,
A

try superior or huck spalding they both have it ,but its not worth it its a 6 by 6 pad for 10 dollars,i went too a flooring place where they sell tile ,carpet stuff and what i got was this membrane like they put on basket ball courts its just good old gum rubber, like the fake skin.
Does this stuff have a name? I've never seen it!
Thanks!
fake skin works well but the only problem with it is that since its rubbery, when you try to wipe the excess ink off of it, the ink smears and doesnt come off, but i have liked working with it, it teaches you to pat the ink off
i have used the fake skin. it holds colors very well. unlike the grapefruit, the skin acts like real skin. very good for learning.
It does work well. This stuff cleans up with Vaseline only. Takes a lot of rubbing. It IS much harder to work than skin however. You must REALLY crank your machines up. You can see some Portraits I did on the stuff years ago at www.paleojohntattoo.com
paleo they're some good portraits man very nice, ive used pig skin to practice on and its not as tough as the fake skin there is no need to crank the machine up also its helpful as your working on flesh and not on a flat tile or pad.
