first session, critique

7 messages · last activity 10/6/2007

this is a freehand tattoo i started an was able to get in some time before the guy wanted to break for the day. so it was rather short but i wanted to get some critique on what i have so far. some parts may look a little off like the claw but that will be fixed with shading eventually. i was hoping for more techincal critique as this was only done with a 8shader an 3 liner. i wanted to save mags for the wings http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e330/twyliteskyz/art/tattoo1.jpg
link doesn't work can't critique what we can't see
sorry try these http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e330/twyliteskyz/tattoo1.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e330/twyliteskyz/TATT.jpg

Was he in pain? That seems like a super short session 15 -20 minutes of work. what are you doing to do with the rest of the lines you didn't trace, because that picture shows shading and stencil mark that went off as soon as you cleaned the tattoo. Not that is hard to do it but some blood-lining would have been great.
well the other stencil marks, like the tail i was thinking of changeing makeing the tail go down his back instead of coil up, an some other things so i kinda just let ot go an wanted to re sketch it. yea he was pretty much in pain. he wouldnt let me go over any more spots an it was getting difficult. so i was gunna look into getting some kinda numbing balm for him
not a whole lot to critique. tell your client to sack up and stop bein a bitch. looks like an ok start but hard to really say with so little of it done. hope you're planning on smoothing out the shading whe n you work on it again. you should have made him let you at least greyline it so you wouldn't lose your design. i agree with your thoughts on losin the coil in the tail. post it again when you actually get some time in on it
