Now I know what you're all going to say even before you read the post: "WAIT! You're only 18! You'll absolutely regret it." But my case is different. Most teens want tattoos just to get inked up and show it off to their friends, and maybe use it as a little help to get laid.
My dad died when I was 14. He was my best friend and I haven't gone a day without thinking about him. I really want a tattoo so that he's with me at all times. I've been searching the internet for ideas, advice, designs, etc... but really no luck so far.
I want it to be meaningful, as there is a good chance that this will be the only tattoo I get. I've already picked out the studio and most likely the person who will do it. Now comes the part of deciding what the hell to get. I know I want it on my back, preferably around my left shoulder blade. I've mostly been focusing on things that we've experienced together.
Now that I've shared all that, I'd like to hear your thoughts on everything, and possibly share some ideas on what to have done.
Thanks,
Joe

if the artist you chose is doing their job they should be able to take all of your ideas and draw up a great custom tattoo for you.
If they can't or won't do that, then walk the f*ck out and find a better shop that's more willing to work with you.
