First Tattoo

I'm thinking about getting my first tattoo. My uncle and cousin both give tattoos and would give it to me for free. I'm a 20 yr old female who has never even seen a tattoo gun, I'm not terrified of needles, I've had my navel pierced but thats about it. I want the tattoo on the back of my neck or right below my neck, on my back. I know this is one of the worst spots to get one - but if I get a tattoo, thats where I want it. Please let me know your stories about getting tattoos here and how much it hurt. I read there are numbing creams you can get - has anyone tried these? Also - will getting it on your back right below your neck be less painful than on your neck? Thanks guys!
