foot butterfly tatoo the body combletley came off!

i got a foot tattoo about 11 days ago and it is looking really fleshy and although its because the scabs fell off the yellow in the tatoo looks like the yellow within the skin minus the pigmentation. my tattoo is a butterly that is green on the outer wings red on the inner area, and yellow at the very inside and base of the wings and the body green, it was beautiful but as the time went by and i took care of it, it still remained painful and then the body ( that was green) just fell out and now it looks all gougded out. i feel that mabe i could have washed it alot more do you think that that is the reason, or maybe the area was just over worked. see i am very dark (african decent) but the colors had shown really well, yet i told the artist that i wanted these colors so bad and i think that he drilled them in too much, i don't know either way i'm missing a valuable part of a tattoo. So should i just wait till it heals and get a touchup?
