Hi guys, I was just wondering what different healing techniques you've recommended or have used.
I am just started on getting a sleeve done and my artist recommended a different way of healing. Not only has it worked out well but I think it works especially well with his way of layering color...as he admits to "pushing the skin to it's limits".
I had to wash it, let it dry good and then cover it with cling wrap for 3 days - no ointment on it. After the 3rd day, I uncovered it and switched to unscented lotion.
I feel that the tattoo is healing really well. So, what do you all think of this technique and what else have you all tried?

The last guy who tattooed me said to wrap it for 3 nights, with ointment..but i put to much on,and the tattoo wasn't able to breathe,so i broke out with pimples with white heads..The next tattoo i get,i may just wrap it for the first night, with a little ointment..Another thing i always do,is after i take the bandage off,is to get a cloth, and run it under hot water, and put it on the tattoo for a few minutes to open the pores, then wash it,and close the pores with cold water..pat dry, then let it air out, then put a little ointment for the first few day's,then switch to lotion...if you wash the tattoo this way,it wont peel to much, and it doesn't really itch at all.
we recomended a 24 hour with plastic wrap and then ointment.i have heard of this advice before along with a 7 day wrap and leave it then ya pull it off and youre lucky not to puke! but tattoo looks great.we all have our own methods and i can agreee with this one for sure hey gina shoot me a e mail with tattoo pics would like to see what ya got going
in the state of Oregon it is illegal to use plastic wrap on a tattoo.
