My co-worker from the Fiji islands told me I needed to get a tattoo without ink to relieve the chronic knot I have in my shoulder. He says he has done this twice with wonderful results in areas that have knotted on him.
He said it's the same principal as acupuncture, but much more condensed and actually gets rid of the knott entirely.
Does this actually work? Has anyone heard of this? Does tattooing without ink leave scars?

Okay so my advice would be to find a good accupuncturist/massage therapist - What causes knots in your muscle, specifically chronic ones, are trigger points (dysfunction in the nerve junction) - You get rid of them by repeat treatment with static pressure and slight frictioning of the area - I guess if someone who does tattoos happens to be a bodyworker then I suppose you could probably have them do that (the actual technical part, I'm not sure of, that would be one of the tattoist who would have to answer that) - however if they aren't hitting the trigger point it isn't going to do anything - FYI trigger points are the size of a pin head. Also depending on the quality of the pain (when doing the inkless tattoo) you may end up with more problems - I'm not sure who your friend saw, but I wouldn't really recommend it...Hope this helps a little
