hey, so here it goes - im 17 and will be turning 18 lol in 18 days. i went to ireland about 2 years ago with my mom, aunts, and grandma. we were all going to get a tattoo but ran out of time b/c of the tour and such things we were doing. so i didnt get one...good idea since what i probly wouldve gotten i wouldnt want at this time in my life b/c its too serious. now that im turning 18 i would like to get one on my birthday partially to mark my 18th. im thinking of getting a small snowflake b/c i love snow and snowboarding. now my question is, is 18 too soon? also i want it kinda next to my hip bone/stomach so im wondering will that stretch if i get pregnant in the future?...id rather not have a stretched permenant tattoo. and any suggestions for tattoo places in eugene oregon? or has anyone heard about the one in sandy oregon? i think its called skull kitchen

i have a butterfly tattoo in about the same spot you wanna get the snowflake..and i love it! it didnt hurt too bad either. yeah, it may stretch out when i get prego...but that wont be for a while. and if you get prego, you would get stretch marks anyway, with a tattoo down there you could add more after you have a kid. its up to you...its nice to have something that only i see most of the time, and is easy to hide, even in a bikini.
oh...have you found any good snowflake designs? im thinkin i want one on my upper back.
I have only seen 2 actual snowflake tats, one featured on this site - artist is Holly Ellis. The other was mostly a line drawing done in light blue, very simple and clean.
There are a few picture books that may give your artist design ideas... here are some links

Great idea for a tat by the way!
greetings! i got a snowflake tattoo several years ago. i love the idea of a snowflake tattoo. one, i'm from alaska and two, every snowflake is unique. but i did make the mistake of not having anyone with me and i was getting it done on the base of my neck so i didn't watch as it was being done. also, i didn't do enuf research 'bout the local artists and couldn't find anything on the internet to inspire me and left the art of it in his hands. there is a symetry about snowflakes. all my branches are uneven and i was expecting far more detail than the result. long story longer, i'm not quite sure how i want to have it touched up, but the links you posted are exactly what i was looking for all along. thanks! hope i can still get the detail i had in mind over the blur i have now.
one love
Ani, check out the folks at divinity Tattoo, some of the best artists around. Paolo is the owner, let em know we sent you if you talk to em.
I googled "snowflake tattoos " and saw some nice examples. Good luck
