Prices are usually defined on the demand. The more popular the artist, usually they are more expensive. Some charge by hour. It could be anywhere from like 80$ to 500$. Then someone like Jesse Smith for example charges 120$ hour with 3 hour minimun. That means you have to get at least 3 hours worth of work. Some charge by day. For example Markus Kuhn charges 450$ by a day of HES choosing traditional Americana, Japanese, Tibetan, Hindu, or West Coast black and grey fineline work, but some just do custom stuff (thats when you choose all the desing ideas and artists makes them) and charge by day. The price of course differs. Good tattoos aint cheap, but you can allways ask a artist how do they price there work.
I hope this is what you wanted to know?
