How long do I need to wait until I get my new tattoo "touched up"?

My new tattoo needs some work over some of the newly tattoo'd area as well as some areas that need to be added on. How long do I need to wait until I can go back in and have the area's fixed up? In other words, how long until a tattoo is actually considered to be healed?

It usually takes 3-4 weeks or maybe even a few more for the freshly tattooed skin to heal enough to go over. It depends on how the tattoo artist applies the tattoo, as well as how you take care of it, and also your skin type and the pigments used and probably a few other factors... sun and what not.
