how long does a portrait take

about how long would you say a black and grey portrait would take. its baout the size of a womans hand

It took Shane O'Neil about 5 1/2 hours to do mine. About 5" long & 4" wide

That's about right. Anywhere in the range of 3-8 hours sounds reasonable, possibly more than one sitting (depending on how your artist works). Factors like detail would affect the actual time involved... For example, if the image tattooed is an older person with more wrinkles, expect it may take a bit more time and effort than a young person's portrait. -KMJ
