How much is 2 much??

I needed some tattoo pros insight on this tat question. I am planning on getting some new pieces in the next few months (working on full sleeves) and usually get 1 quality tat at a time. However, because I travel to the same artist who is located roughly 750 miles from me (he does WONDERFUL WORK...so the drive is MORE than worth it!!), I wanted to get maybe 2 tats this time. OK enough prefacing...here is my 2 questions! Is it too demanding for an artist both physically and mentally if they were asked to tattoo say 5 to 7 actual tattooing hours? And also if I got one medium-large tat on each arm would they effect each other as far as my skin holding in the ink? I appreciate your insights!!

it's really up to the artist and your pain toleration. I personally believe that more than 6 hrs per session is really pushing both efforts: client and artist. I can't really tattoo for more than 4-5 hours (back problems) 9 hours total per day after rest. But that's just me and my personal opinion. Present your idea to your artist if you are whiling to take and he wants to do it I see no problem with that

OK will do! Now about the 2nd question will either tat effect the other as to holding in the amount of ink on each arm or will it not matter because they are on different arms?

Yuor skin should hold the ink as well, though the more trauma to the system the slower the healing I reckon. Take the advice of your artist and you should be ok. With tattooing, it can never hurt to be patient though...

Your comment on listening to your artist is so true! I always have an idea in mind when it comes to the design I want. But I leave it up to the artist to "take the ball and run" because he will be the one that knows how to contour it to best to fit my body, add depth to the design, etc. As a customer I have only an idea of what I want but the artist brings it to fruition!! I have never had a bad tattoo by a quality artist and I leave it to their disgression as to how and what should be done to a tattoo (details, coloring). I find I get a better tat when I leave them alone and let them create and not put restrictions on what they "should do"!! Many thanks for all your advice...!!!
