I want to open a Tatto Studio

4 messages · last activity 6/12/2009

I am not a tattoo artist, but I do a lot of flash. I have done most of the flash for my own tattoos. I live in Kentucky and the town I live in does not have studio. I have many friends that have worked in studios as artists and piercers. I have the money to open the shop and they have the talent. Would it be worth opening and renting out to artists and how much does a chair rent out for?
Don't do it dude. If you're asking basic questions as such, you are obviously much further behind than you should be if you're hoping to buy your own shop. I would suggest investing your money in something you're more knowledgeable about. Good luck!
there atr alot of us artist that simply will NOT work for a non artist owner. no way aint going to happen aint doing it and not only NO BUT FUCK NO! there is a whole bunch ya need to know and if youre asking this on a public gorum then you need more education on this matter to open a shop. best of luck.
dude, i live in Kentucky too, and i totally know what you mean. Lexington has the most shops i've seen in one place in this hellish state. so why not trying to get a lease on a place on a pretty public street and get your artist friends and go for it. i know non-artist owners that are doing just fine. you just got to set stuff up right. but this is defiantly not the place to ask. you will get slaughtered. try going to an actual shop or 2 or 5 and ask there. good luck.
