Ideas on coving my "not-so-awsome" foot tattoo

Soooo... few years ago I let someone talk me into getting a tattoo... we went to a licensed shot... well, i mean, i sure hope the fat fuck was licensed, he was all sweaty and gross... ugh.. anyways... I got a (oh-so-awsome) chinese symbol on my foot. dumb dumb idea. It was SUPPOSED to mean strength... it means NOTHING because it doesnt even resemle the f'in symbol i showed him. soooooo.... Now i want to cover it up... but my problem is... i like the small simple tattoos, and its gonna take something BIG to cover this big old black blob on my foot. ppl ask me if its a spider... lol any ideas??.. heres a pic http://tinypic.com/r/i44d3q/5 -- preferably no flowers or butterflys... thats soooo not my thing. ps... (pry a totally dumb question) can u lighten it with white ink, let it heal and then have better luck covering it up?? thanks xoxoxox.
