ink reactions

i have been reading online about people having reactions to red tattoo ink from diffrent supply companys. some have the reactions when the tattoo is in the sun light even tattoos that are years old. then some people have reactions from the red right off the back. there body just rejects the red. well my neighbor has a tattoo of a flame up his leg and he always wears shorts and has no car so he is always on his bike in the sun the flame is just black and red and the red looks to be swollen and dry and hes always scratching it. i know you always want pictures ill half to see if i can get one of it. what im looking for is "what would you pros recomend trying to help out with the red ink reactions?" i asked my neighbor if he wears sun screen over it and he said somtimes so im not sure if that would have something to do with it or not. any information would be helpfull on the red ink situation and this is not only for him but i have see others with the same questions. if i was to come to your shop and one of your tattoos was having a red reaction what would you recomend they do to try and help out there tattoo. go to the docter would be number 1 i hope but we dont all have insurance and if we do we cant always aford the fees. so what would be something we could try and help thanks all mike

Hey Mike ...thanks for your post! As for your friend...when he exposes that tattoo to uv rays ...sunlight....he is making any red syndrome reaction ( if that is what he actually has) much worse.You can't just use sunscreen once in a while...it has to be used EVERY time the tattoo is exposed to sunlight...EVERY time.... If I could see a pic it would be helpful...bear in mind that red syndrome reaction is not common and is usually mistaken for bad aftercare and exposure to direct sunlight Hope I've helped some Mike!...TAz
