Is my scabbing normal?

I am new to the world of tattoos. I got my first tattoo two weeks ago while in Hawaii on my foot. I understand that the foot takes longer to heal, but mine is no where to the point of peeling or for that matter the scabs falling off. Not itching either. At least not yet. They are very bumpy scabs and one has cracked open but heals right back up. I am washing it twice a day with antibacterial soap and using Lubiderm lotion on it. Of course I am wearing flip flops. I am trying to be hopeful that my tattoo is going to come out of this ugly scabbing intact and beautiful. Has anyone also experience this bumpy type scabbing? I admit I walked a lot on it for two days after it was done do to the fact I was still on vacation so maybe I did more injury to it. It's not swollen or red and just looks like a mountain of scabs! Any encouraging words would be helpful. I feel that I will never see the beautiful results I expect. I am afraid I will only be left with scars! Thanks in advance for any kind and helpful words.
