Hello,
I am trying to find out how my son can learn to become a tatoo artist. He has great artistic ability and is into tatoos and has mentioned that this is want he wants to do. How do we go about finding a school or shop to work at and learn the trade? Any information would be greatly appreciated. By the way he doesn't know that I am researching this for him. I want him to succeed at something he loves rather than struggle in jobs he doesn't.
Thank you,
Carol

First off how old is your son? I suggest he gets an extensive portfolio of his artwork together...and remember....the more professional it looks the better impression it will make.
I applaud you for encouraging your son to pursue his dreams and passions ...that can make a big difference!.Art classes are definatelt a plus.
The tattoo industry can be a very rewarding profession if pursued in a professional manner..Just please encourage him to be persistant in obtaining a formal apprenticeship! There are some things you just cannot learn on your own. There are enough people out there with just enough knowledge ot tattoing to be dangerous.Training in creating and maintaining sterile fields and anti cross contamination proceedures is a must!.....Tattooing is an
invasive proceedure and knowing and following accepted medical
proceedures is essential not only to the artist but also to the customer
If I can be of any help please e mail me...Taz of Painted Angel
