Hi there,
Anyone have experiences with using extremely light blue and/or light gray ink in their tattoos WITHOUT any outline? I like this as an alternative to white ink, as I am East Asian and with my skintone was told by two artists that the white ink will badly discolor.
So questions:
1. Gray/light blue ink - did the ink 'take'/heal properly and evenly?
2. Did it cost the same and was your artist comfortable with it?
3. Would white ink, as artists told me, look like shit on medium Asian skin?
4. Any other experiences to add?
I'm getting a rather large piece done on my forearm.
Thanks a lot for the help!
Also, here's some BME links to examples of the color/opacity I'm talking about:

And no, I'm not getting anythign remotely close to a star tattoo.
Light blue/light gray ink - Experiences?

Sorry for the double-post - Please reply to this one if any input available!
white ink seems to works well when used sparingly. i've seen claims where guys say they can cover a football field with white and have no problems, tho i've never seen them back it up with proof. it really depends on the tattoo. if it is clothing, for example, that needs to appear white, the artist needs to look for reason s to use alot of shadow and reflected light, and save the white for hilites. in the star on the bme link, i think the right move was made in adding blue to the white.
