I know i am going to bashed like everyone else does on this site that isnt a professional artist, but here it goes anyway. Firts I am not a scratcher have no intentions to tattoo, i have been getting tattoos for many years and see the work and time it takes to become good, with that said i would like to learn to draw flash, i can draw well but that doesnt make good flash, i would possibly like to learn how to make homemede profeesional grade guns, i do have acess to a machine shop.... Can someone lead me in the right direction on what makes good flash, any bokks or vids out there
Hey Ink- I have never seen a book on how to draw flash designs, I think if your looking for books on drawing in general that would be the best way. I would also look into signing up for some art classes too, they can help you learn more about shadows, shading, depth perception etc. I would also look into the different expressions of flash designs-like what old school is vs. more modern designs-what is Japanese art and what is the meaning behind those designs...it just helps getting you better aquainted with this art form. Machine making...no clue. I know there are some books out there on tattoo machine designs etc...but the actual making of one I can't think of one. Most tattoo artists learn that during their apprenticeships (good ones anyways)...maybe you can find someone who builds tattoo machines and apprentice under them? I think that would be the best place to learn that trade...
Check out tattooflashbook.com...they have a large selection of book's and DVD's geared for tattooing. Tattoo education is an awesome site, you just have to spend the time searching for what you are looking for. A lot of tattoo supply sites have a wide variety of this type of information, but if you are not licensed, you might be shyut out of luck!!!
