looking for david evans

i just found out this afternoon that david evans is no longer working at underground art...i have been getting work from him since 1997 and went to the shop today to schedule a consultation and was told he...first he was taking some time off and then that he might be going back to school and there was no idea when actually or if he would be returning...is there anybody out there that knows anything...prior to finding david i had experienced the typical "f'em" attitude of local shops in memphis once an artist left or went to another shop to work...this is not to say that what was told to me today was not accurate but i am really just trying to verify this info...david rules...period...i considered it a blessing to have found him and have a work in progress piece that HE has to finish. if there is anybody out there with any info i would greatly appreciate it. peace be journey psycho7x

I hear you. I also had a work in progress--however, mine was almost done. Paul completed the rest of the coloring and he did a very, very good job. David has been my artist since I moved here 6 years ago and I almost felt like I was "screwing around" on him by having some other person ink me!! Right now I'm taking what they tell me about David at face value, for he and Angela, the other owner, having been friends for a long, long time. However, it's just odd that both Tim and David are gone, 2 people who appeared to really love what they do.

i have seen him listed in the past couple of years on lists of artists that were tattooing at conferences. Poke around those conference sites. i have two smaller pieces by him, one of which is a cover-up, and i think he's great. Good luck. i found your question trying to find him on the net.

I heard from someone who has work by David that he is now tattooing from his home. She was going to try to get the information on how to reach him for me. If I get it, I will post it on here. Good luck guys!
