Lost son

I am trying to get some kind of tattoo that represent my son that I lost 3 years ago. He was 2 year old when he died.. I want something that I could put on my body something to remember him by. I want something that stands out for a mother who lost her son, the pain she went through, and the enduring love we have shared. I want it to be meaniful and beautiful tattoo.. Have any ideas??

first and foremost i'm sorry for your loss. on the issue of getting a memorial tattoo for your son an idea could be his footprints or hand prints if you have them. i would advise doing some deep digging though to find a more than reputable artist to do footprints as there are ultra fine lines and details that go into a tattoo like that. Even the emotional side of it you wouldn't want someone fucking up a tattoo dedicated to your son. you could also get a portrait of you him and his mother (i dont know your relationship situation so i sorta shyed away from saying wife or girlfriend). another idea would be to get a tattoo of something he loved like a toy or stuffed animal that he maybe slept with, basically anything that he was drawn to. again i'm sorry for your loss and good luck with getting this tattoo.
