Let me preface this by saying that I am NOT attempting to build my own machine and scratch my friends and family up. I have a tattoo artist that I go to who has an idea for a tattoo machine FRAME, and I am just wondering what everyone's favorite metals are to make one from. I know cast iron is a big one, unfortunately that isn't an option, as I don't have access to a foundry. I do have access to a milling machine, so I will have to use something that is already cast, such as brass, steel, stainless, etc. Just looking for some opinions.

machines have been built from all kinds of materials, including wood, glass and plastic. Depending the purpose of the gear and preference you will decide which machines frame suits you best. Of course, experience will allow you to accomplish that choice.
Can't go wrong with steel.Take a bit of patience to mill it from a chunk but it would be nice.Pulse mills theirs, everybody wants one.
