machine tuning resources

Hi. I've been trying to teach myself some machine theory and have so far been flipping through all the issues of Machine Gun. I was wondering if the Godoy Brothers book or Joey Desormeaux book covers anything else that the MachineGun magazines don't? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
