I am having trouble tuning my machine. Any tips or advice anyone can give me? Thanks!
oh sir, you are going to get it with a question like this... just a warning
Ok Let me try this again. I just got a National liner machine. Im having trouble tuning it to the point where it doesnt spill so much ink once im working with it. I just got this machine so im still trying to figure it out. I have been tattooing for 4 months now so im still trying out different machines. Am i running the speed to high? or does the contact screw need some adjusting? Or is my machine basically a piece of shit? Any advice will help.
Heres your advice, unless your under apprenticship with a licensed artist (which obviously your not), you should not be asking technical quesions about machine tuning, needle making, pigment mixing or anything of the likes for you will be harrassed by all the regulars of this forum. second, if you are under apprenticship with a licensed artist (which obviously your not), he/she should be teaching you how to properly tune your machine and what equipment is (and is not) worth spending your time and money on. I scratched too, for a long ass time, then i got my act together, got an apprenticeship and have learned quite a few things about how to properly run your equipment.... drop your machine, pick up a pencil/pen/paintbrush, be an artist, then get an apprenticeship, give them your equipment, learn the shit, then be a tattoo artist.
P.S. Your machine is garbage...
Cool just wanted to see what kind of responses i would get on this forum. Well i do have an apprenticeship and learned to tune my machine quite well. But the machine is garbage! M sharps is what was recommended to me. Any suggestions?
And to "Iccarus" i appreciate your response. can you send me a link to your work? thanks!
