Mixing tattoo ink...

I was wondering, can you add white and black to colors such as red to make the color lighter or darker? Can you add grey wash to colors?

1st off get a color wheel and 2nd yes mixing is accepted according to hughes shades and such that you are looking for.but get that damm color wheel that will help
