Hey,
So I've been seriously thinking about getting a negative space tattoo done.
I.e. the image of that tattoo is your skin, and the negative space is what is Inked.
The most beautiful one I have ever seen was a full sleeve, it was many many flowers, roses, magnolias, orchids, daisys, water lilys and more, what I found interesting was that there were large areas of his arm that was swathed in black, as I've seen in other negative space tattoos, you really had to focus on it and when you did, it jumped out at you.
anyone seen this type of tattooing before? I've only seen it once.
and where can I find pictures
thanks

i love the use of negative space in certain tattoos. i think too often people just get the whole area covered with ink and i think that when you let the open skin be the design its a great look. as far as what artists to look at i am not too sure, but i think most talented artists can work with the idea of the use of negative space.
It's beautiful work
and I don't particularly like the ones where theres too much black inked area, but when it's subtle.
check out inkstoptattoonyc.com and look under the artist Eric Rignall, he shows what he did with a womans arm with the negative space, very cool.
