New to tattooing

4 messages · last activity 5/7/2007

I absolutely know i am going to get slated for this. But ive been reading some messages online about people new to tattooing and everybody going off on one about not being taught by a professional tattooist. but i decided to purchase probably to you guys a nasty tattoo kit from china. I also got loads of practise skin and No i am not going to get an apprentiship (sorry bad spelling). I havent recieved it yet so i cant tell you much about it but i thought id write a message because at the end of the day if i wanna learn tattooing its my own choice and how to you think the first tattooist started? i just wanted to say i wanted to learnt the basics myself as im a university student and my parents are dead against me learning to tattoo without a degree to fall back on. So the basics i want to learn myself and in 3 years time when i leave uni i want to have an apprentiship. but what i ment was i dont know about the other guys who want to start but i defintely will NOT be tattooing anybody! i just want to learn how to do it on practise skin and maybe myself. I brought an autoclave simply because even if im not tattooing anybody i just want a sterlized enviorment. I just wanted to say that because not everybody wants to run out and start scaring everybody, i certainly dont. I dont think theres anything wrong with getting a kit and some practise skin to have some fun. Also another reason for not getting an app. is because i like in the middle of countryside no where nearer a tattooist in england, plus my town is filled with self taught tattooists (although im not saying there good, i do not know) I do understand the fact that people are idiots who get a kit and think ill tattoo it looks easy and mess peoples bodys up. i understand why you would get angry then. especially with all the possibliltys of infections if dont incorrectly thats why i wouldnt tattoo anybody til i fully learnt. Thanks for reading.
GROW UP!!!!!!!
Man theres nothing wrong with what you are doing bro, as long as you stick to the fake skins etc. Have fun with it. Just remember that you can develop some really bad habits very quickly that are hard to break. You should also think about getting some Blood Borne Pathogen training and cross contam knowledge. You can do this on the internet and its probably the most valuable info you will ever learn. Good luck man!
Cheers mate. btw im a girl but thanks anyways.
